This bit of blue litters my white so.
Stark cold autumn eve is crying all over
my insides.
I'm dying
to go home. Home being nameless and faceless.
(Something feels like home and I've never even
been there.)
No decisions need be made, the path is
waiting for my bare feet.
(It's all visible, from my mind balcony.)
Alas, this is not the case. I am faced with
jungle like thickets and blackberry brambles.
They will need endless cutting. It's a job
that will
(inevitably)
spill blood.
Wouldn't you like to lie with me?
In the archaic sense?

How divinely these words play upon us tricks and treats as well tempting the very nature we wish to expel with a rather grand push towards ambiguity they say they know us but we are strangers living in the same house.
Love is a Butcher
I know it would be easy
if making love
was like baking bread
mixing a few ingredients together
watching the dough rise
then sticking it in
the oven
but I’ve learned over time
you can’t survive on bread
you’ve got to have some meat in your diet
or the lack of protein
will kill you
and that means
you’ve got to draw some blood
kill some living, breathing creatures along the way
learn to yield a meat cleaver
and separate skin from meat from bone
how to identify a good cut from a so-so cut
from a piece of fat ass or stringy toughness
and yes, someone else can do it for you
make it easy
cut it up, slap it on styrofoam and wrap it in plastic
and sell it to you
prepackaged
and bar-coded
but I tell you
in all sincerity
that someone-else-shed-the-blood love
is for the weak
at heart
and that meat is never the best
never really even all that good
because the butcher always keeps the best cuts for him/her self
and you can try to live on breadcrumbs if you wish
but I tell you, it isn’t living, nor
will you ultimately be satisfied
or even sustained
your mother should have told you
love is a butcher
not a baker
There are many things my momma should have told me.
And I don't eat red meat.
momma said eat read meat
I'm going to eat red meat
Don't call it red meat
it's cooked and clean
pork chops yum!
